The history of CSGO graffiti and its memorable plays

Those plays that Valve considered incredible and unique were immortalized on the walls of the maps. We review the most important ones.

A few days ago it was 5 years since the unforgettable play of the Brazilian Coldzera in the semifinals of the MLG Major Championship of CSGO, in Columbus 2016, where he achieved an incredible 4K over Team Liquid in Mirage to survive the first map and then turn the story around. That play was immortalized by Valve in graffiti. But it is not the only one.

Over the years, the developer company has chosen different moves to leave engraved on Counter Strike maps so that all those who pass by that place can enjoy them. In this article we review some of the most outstanding ones and how they were produced.

COLDZERA’S GRAFFITI IN MIRAGE

Semifinal of the MLG Major Championship in Columbus 2016. Luminosity was losing that Mirage against Team Liquid by 15-9 and had the whole crowd against them. The attack to liquidate the map came by mat to the site of B. There was the Brazilian with AWP. He started jumping and killed four Liquid players, two of them with the same bullet. Finally, Luminosity would take the map by 19-15 and win the Major against Natus Vincere.

OLOFMEISTER’S DEFUSE IN OVERPASS

Dignitas had managed to plant the C4 and was about to protect it with the situation 2 versus 4. To try to achieve it Device threw a Molotov to the site and Olofmeister, armed with tongs and courage, threw himself to defuse it. He succeeded a thousandth before dying and gave the round to his team, who would win that Overpass by 16-14.

S1MPLE’S DOUBLE NO SCOPE IN CACHE

ESL One Cologne 2016 Semifinal. Team Liquid had won the first map against Fnatic by 16-13 and was on its way to take Cache. S1mple had been left alone in round 14 against Krimz and Dennis, who were looking to either kill him or plant the C4 on the site of B. But the Ukrainian’s AWP was devilish. Double no scope: the first, falling on top of Dennis; and the second, from an impossible distance.

DOSIA’S GRENADE IN INFERNO

Final of the PGL Major Krakow 2017. Gambit prevailed over Immortals by 9-1 in the third and decisive map. Hen1 managed to plant the C4 on A’s site, while his teammates Steel and Lucas1 managed to run out the clock to take the round. In the final seconds, they took refuge in the corner of the site, where the bomb explosion was not going to take all their lives. Attentive to this, Dosia threw a grenade that caused the death of both of them, took away their weapons and caused a significant drop in the economy of his rival.

OLOFMEISTER’S NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN BOOST

The quarterfinals of DreamHack Winter 2014 were being played. Fnatic and Team LDLC.com were evenly matched on one map per side and Overpass was being played. Fnatic was losing 3-13 from the CT side and to try to pull out the story they made a boost never seen before. From there, they managed to see all the terrorist movement and even achieve two casualties before the total bewilderment of the rivals. Finally, Fnatic won the map 16-13 to take the victory and the passage to the semifinals.

However, due to cheating accusations, Fnatic was finally stripped of the victory and Team LDLC.com even won the tournament. Valve added a sign in German next to the boost location that prohibits players from climbing in that area. Then, they modified Overpass to make that boost impossible by moving the truck in CT closer to B’s site.
