Valorant is a free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter hero shooter developed and published by Riot Games. The game was first announced under the codename Project A in October 2019. It was released for Microsoft Windows on 2 June 2020 after its closed beta launched on 7 April 2020. Valorant takes inspiration from the Counter-Strike series of tactical shooter video games and borrows several mechanics, such as the buy menu, spray patterns and imprecision when moving.

Gameplay

Valorant is a first-person hero shooter set in the near future.1234 Players take control of agents, characters who hail from a myriad of countries and cultures around the world. In the main game mode, players join either the attacking or defending team with each team having five players. Agents have unique abilities and use an economic system to purchase their skills and weapons. The video game has a variety of weapons including pistols, submachine guns, shotguns, machine guns, assault rifles and sniper rifles.56 Each weapon has a recoil pattern that must be controlled by the player in order to fire accurately. The attacking team has a bomb, called a Spike, which they need to plant at a site. If the attacking team successfully shields the Spike for 40 seconds and detonates it, they score a point. If the defending team successfully defuses the Spike, or the 100-second round timer expires, the defending team gets a point. If all members of a team are eliminated, the opposing team scores one point. After twelve rounds, the attacking team switches to the defending team and vice versa. The first team to win 13 rounds wins the game. Except for overtime, where you must win 2 wins/rounds in a row.

In total, there are six game modes: Non-Competitive, Competitive, Deathmatch, Spike Fever, Replica and Arms Race.

There is also a so-called custom mode in which a game can be created with the player's own settings.
