Valorant – Major Roster Changes for The Guard & Rex Regum Qeon

Following the conclusion of a trial period for 2023, one of the VCT Pacific league teams Rex Regum Qeon has parted company with Filipino athletes Nathaniel #Nexi Cabero and Kelly #kellyS Sedillo, while according to several reports, North American team The Guard plans to add Trent Cairns to its VALORANT roster for the Challengers VCT circuit in 2019.

The Guard – What went wrong?

Trent’s contribution to The Guard’s success after his signing in January was crucial. Following their time in the VCT Stage One Challengers, which ended in March, The Guard gained notoriety in North America.

Along with other teams like Cloud9, Sentinels, and Luminosity, The Guard defeated OpTic Gaming, who is undoubtedly the greatest team in the area. They qualified for VCT Stage One: Masters Reykjavk, which took place in April, by winning the online competition. After suffering defeats to OpTic Gaming and Paper Rex, The Guard was unable to win a match at the competition.

Trent was sought after in the offseason since he distinguished himself throughout his time with The Guard this year. Sentinels, the most notable team to indicate interest in Trent, but the talks fell through. The player piqued the curiosity of Evil Geniuses as well.

Because Riot Games rejected The Guard’s application for cooperation, The Guard was one of many organizations that were unable to qualify for the Americas international competition. However, successful groups included Cloud9, 100 Thieves, NRG, Evil Geniuses, and Sentinels.

The Guard will compete in the North America Challengers circuit, where if the team is successful in winning the new Ascension competition, it may be possible for The Guard to qualify for the partnership league in 2024.

Rex Regum Qeon Situation

Rex Regum Qeon stated, “It is with a sorrowful heart that we announce that we will be saying goodbye to our VALORANT players, Nexi and kellyS. “With our extended trial period being over, management and the coaching staff have decided to maintain a six-man roster going forward. Nexi and KellyS have both been such a crucial part of the VALORANT squad and the RRQ Family that the coaching team’s choice to omit them was not made lightly.

Rex Regum Qeon had KellyS as a member since January 2022, while Nexi subsequently joined in March. Together, they most significantly aided the squad in winning Predator League Philippines in September over South Built Esports and securing a spot in VCT APAC Challengers Two in June.

Rex Regum Qeon is scheduled to play alongside James #2ge Goopio, Emmanuel #Emman Morales, and Eroll following the departures of kellyS and Nexi. In VCT 2023, Hagai #Lmemore Tewuh, Saibani #fl1pzjder Rahmad, Jule #EJAY Delfin, and David #Tehbotol Monangin participated.

One of the ten APAC firms to earn a position in the VCT Pacific league was Rex Regum Qeon. The following year, they will compete against teams like DRX, T1, Gen.G, ZETA DIVISION, Paper Rex, DetonatioN Gaming, Team Secret, Talon Esports, and Global Esports.
