Dota 2: South America is ready to host Lima Major 2023

The Lima Major 2023 will introduce the highest standard of #LAN competition to South America, making it set to hold its first Dota 2 Major ever. Here is all the information that you need to know about the 2022/23 #DPC season’s opening Major.

For the first time in the illustrious history of Dota 2 gaming, South America will hold a Major. South America has established itself as a developing area in Dota 2 esports after consistently putting up impressive performances at different Majors and Tls.

The Lima Major 2023, the first LAN event of the 2022/23 DPC Season, will give a significant number of DPC points to assist qualifying teams get a head start in their TI campaigns. Through their various regional divisions, all 18 qualifying teams will gain entry into the competition. Let’s dig in and learn everything there is to know about the forthcoming Major for the game.

The Lima Major 2023 will have two phases, the group stage, that is followed by the playoffs. From February 22 until February 26, there will be a group session. At the conclusion of this phase, the best six teams from each of the two divisions will advance to the semifinals. Each division has 9 teams.

The Lima Major finals will have a double-elimination tournament structure, just like all DPC LAN events, with 12 teams competing for the tittle. This stage will begin on February 28th, and the ultimate championship finale will take place on March 5.

The South American area had already established itself as a Dota 2 powerhouse thanks to outstanding performances from teams like Thunder Awaken and Beastcoast. Arena 1 in San Miguel, Lima, Peru, will be the host for The Lima Major.

The Lima Major’s group stage will feature a total of 18 teams. These teams were all admitted to the LAN competition via their various area championships. These 18 teams will compete for a total of 1900 DPC points and a $500,000 reward fund.
