Rocket League – Team Soniqs Turn To European Talents For Roster Update

Teams from both Europe and North America have recently started a trend of bringing in reinforcements, and their moves have shaken up the entire Rocket League market, as well as the entire gaming community.

Team Soniqs went on to look for a new team, after unveiling their 2021–22 roster. This move was inspired by many different factors, and they are hoping it will bring a new wave of success to the franchise.

With the organization expecting to sign Thomas “ThO” Binkhorst, Otto “Metsanauris” Kaipiainen, and Mike “Mikeboy” Verkuijlen going into RLCS 2022-23, the organization is exclusively searching across the Atlantic for a new roster.

Their Road So Far

Soniqs have been a recognizable face in the North American RLCS since their introduction into Rocket League Esports back in January 2020, along with players like Matthew “Satthew” Ackermann, Nathan “Shock” Frommelt, and Raul “Roll Dizz” Diaz.

The team was one of just a few throughout the whole RLCS 2021–22 season to refrain from making a roster change. Soniqs played as part of a team that also included Andrew “Andy” Nolan, Tristian “tcorrell,” and Anthony “ZPS” Marcello Perez. Despite finishing 11th in the North American rankings, the team was unable to contend for any trophies.

The remaining players on the RLCS 2021–22 roster are all seeking other opportunities, and tcorrell is anticipated to sign with Ghost Gaming following a two-year stint with Soniqs. As a result, Soniqs has been looking into moving the RLCS to a different region.

The organization has recently focused on the recently assembled roster of Metsanauris, ThO, and Mikeboy who are anticipated to perform at regional events in Europe. Metsanauris was an important member of Endpoint during RLCS 2021–22, participating in all four major LANs.

Mikeboy and ThO, who both had their debut together in 2018 on mCon Esports and have since collaborated on other separate initiatives, including their most recent company, Solary, are also present to support the cunning veteran.

ThO had previously stated that he will cut ties with Mikeboy after becoming a free agent in order to focus completely on new endeavors with Ole “oaly” van Doorn, but that decision was reversed when oaly teamed up with Archie “archie” Pickthall and Joris “Joreuz” Robben for RLCS 2022–2023. Soniqs will be praying for improved RLCS luck and for this fresh roster to be competitive for major qualifying in Europe.

The Conclusion

If realized in full, this addition to Team Soniqs’ roster could make them contenders once again in a crowded North American competition. The depth they needed might be there, so it will be interesting to see if they click together and create the chemistry that will last them throughout the whole season, and possibly lead them all the way to the title.

If you are a Team Soniqs fan, these news are truly a reason to celebrate, but even if you’re not, you should be happy as this means that the matches waiting for us will be filled with nothing but pure action.
