League of Legends – G2 One Step Closer To The Asian Market

The ambitious objectives of G2 Esports to grow its fan base and worldwide presence continue. The sixth most valuable esports company in the world previously announced its intention to enter the American market with its debut Valorant team in December 2022.

Today, the company revealed its expansion into Asia with the introduction of G2 Blacklist, its first-ever League of Legends: Wild Rift team.

A Journey Towards The East

Blacklist International, an esports team with a significant presence in the mobile gaming sector with teams in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Garena Free Fire, and Call of Duty: Mobile, has launched a joint venture called G2 Blacklist with Tier One Entertainment. Karlll, Jace, Orthros, Demon, Xyliath, and Don are all members of the new team, which is coached by Wurahhhh and XDXP.

The G2 Blacklist team will be based in Manila, Philippines. As part of G2’s ongoing commitment to entertainment, which most recently culminated in the team’s anthem “Detonate,” the team will be featured in a content series called The Bootcamp that will follow them as they compete in The Wild Rift League Asia qualification rounds.

G2 hasn’t spent any time in looking at merchandising ideas to support the new endeavor. With Quiccs, a Filipino toy designer, illustrator, and graffiti artist who has previously worked with Adidas, the official apparel partner of G2 Esports, a custom, exclusive artwork has been commissioned. Fans throughout Europe and southeast Asia will be able to purchase this limited-edition item.

G2 Esports CEO Alban Dechelotte stated: “We’re fusing the finest of the east and the west to dominate a new esports championship. The alliance between G2 and Blacklist, two significant winning businesses, was established with lofty goals.

“Blacklist is a winning squad made up of accomplished individuals who have contributed to their dominance in the mobile esports sector. We wanted to join in on the success of Wild Rift in Asia by bringing a G2 squad to our supporters there.

The CEO of Tier One Entertainment, Tryke Gutierrez, continued, “G2 Blacklist is a “1+2=4” sort of relationship. Collaboration between two of the most renowned and successful teams in their respective regions is genuinely unique.

“I believe this is a game-changer for the entire business, not just for Wild Rift esports. We’re eager to introduce the Blacklist International brand to new global audiences with G2.

G2’s most recent statement follows a decisive 3-1 victory against Heroic at IEM Katowice’s 2023 ESL CS:GO Championship, which was viewed by more than 710,000 spectators in person and online.
