Legacy have done it again in China. The Brazilian side swept G2 3-0 in the FISSURE Playground 3 grand final in Suzhou on Sunday, adding a third trophy won on Chinese soil to the CS Asia Championships titles they lifted in 2025 and 2026. For a Counter-Strike team that entered the week ranked sixth in Valve’s September VRS, it is another statement that their run is no accident.
Ancient sets the tone
The series opened on Legacy’s Ancient pick, and it was the only map where G2 looked like the stronger side for any real stretch. After falling behind 2-5 on the CT side, the Europeans reeled off five rounds in a row to lead at the half, then stretched the gap to three after winning the second pistol. Legacy answered with a successful force-buy and a five-round run of their own to move ahead 10-8. The pivotal moment came in round 20: with the score at 10-9, Bruno “latto” Rebelatto won a double in a 3v3 to keep Legacy in front, and the Brazilians closed the map out 13-9.
try’s USP quad, huNter-‘s ace, latto everywhere
Mirage began with fireworks from Santino “try” Rigal, who opened the map with a USP quad-kill and followed it with an AWP triple on short as Legacy raced to a 5-0 CT start. Artem “r1nkle” Moroz, sitting at 1-11 at the time, salvaged a 1v2 in the final round of the half to make it 3-9. G2 fought back after the switch, and Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač landed an ace in round 17, but Legacy traded blows through a back-and-forth stretch from 11-8 and closed it 13-10.
Dust2, Legacy’s second pick, was a formality. A 5-0 T-side start became an 8-4 half, and the Brazilians finished the job 13-4. latto posted a 2.25 rating and 131.6 ADR on the decider alone.
MVP for latto – again
latto topped the scoreboard on all three maps and ended the final with a 1.67 rating, 102.9 ADR and 80.6% KAST, edging teammate Vinicius “n1ssim” Pereira in what had been a tight MVP race heading into Sunday. It is his third MVP award in under a year, and all three have come at events in China, one for each of Legacy’s three titles there. Across the playoffs he was the highest-rated player by a clear margin, 1.45 to n1ssim’s 1.25.
For G2, Guy “NertZ” Iluz was the lone bright spot with a 1.23 rating and the highest ADR of anyone in the series at 107.7. r1nkle had a final to forget: 26 kills across three maps and a 0.63 rating, the lowest on the server.
What it means
G2 had finally broken their quarter-final curse this week, beating FURIA 2-0, and then turned over BETBOOM to reach the final. But the eighth-ranked team in the world ran into a Legacy side that has now beaten everyone put in front of them at three consecutive Chinese events. The result will feed into the next VRS update and should tighten the gap between the two in the standings.
From a betting angle, most esports bookmakers had these two priced close together before the final. Sixth against eighth in the VRS rarely produces a heavy favourite, yet the series never felt in doubt after Ancient. Bettors who leaned on Legacy’s China record and latto’s form found real value; anyone treating it as a coin flip did not.
