On the final day of Stage 3 of the EUL, MNM Gaming qualified for the November Major in Jönköping, Sweden, following a victory over Team BDS in maximum overtime. Meanwhile, Jeremy #HysteRiX Tan, a former star of Giants Gaming and Invictus Gaming, ended his five-year professional Rainbow Six Siege career today.

MNM Gaming’s Road To Sweden

This comes after a total of four victories, which gave them 14 of their final 17 points. They suffered defeats against Outsiders, Wolves, and G2 Esports in the regular and extra periods, respectively, but prevailed courtesy to victories over Rogue and Heroic.

After placing last in their group at the 2022 Six Invitational and third in their group at the Six Berlin Major, MNM will compete in this tournament as their third global competition of the year. MNM is now one of just nine core rosters that will participate in three or more international competitions in 2022.

With MNM making their Rainbow Six top-tier debut this year, they join a long list of incredible Challenger League teams who have recently made waves in Europe, including I don’t know, Team BDS, and Team Empire.

Since obtaining a visa for their Turkish player Fatih #Solotov Türker in time for the competition proved challenging before the Berlin Major, the roster will probably be scrambling to do so going forward. Before the competition begins on November 21, the squad has three weeks to complete this.

HysteRiX’s Retirement

After a challenging final stretch in which his Tyde squad lost its two top players in the second midseason transfer window, Jeremy calls it a career. As a result, Tyde was winless throughout the entire stage and only managed to record one point in their final contest last week.

The Singaporean made his professional debut with the Hong Kong side uniqueMonster before switching back to Tyde name in Stage 3 last month, five years, four organizations, and a variety of players later.

At the Allied Esports Minor in 2019, HysteRiX made his international debut as Aerowolf. Then, his squad entered the Season 10 ESL Pro League Finals, where they defeated the European team of Giants Gaming 2-1 to earn a spot in a worldwide competition.

After being subsequently signed by Giants Gaming, he competed at the Six Invitational in 2020 and 2021 but was unable to repeat his Season 10 victory.

Then, in May 2021, Invictus Gaming signed the group, with whom he competed at the Mexico and Sweden Majors but fell short of the playoffs. After a failed “super-team” attempt in the 2022 season resulted in Invictus leaving Siege before Stage 2, there was a massive squad reorganization and a return to the Tyde brand.

While position changes caused his recent statistical stats to decline, in Stage 1 of the 2021 APAC South season and both stages of the 2020 APAC North season, he was the best player on his side. Meanwhile, in the last two rounds of 2021, he was beaten out by Matin #SpeakEasy Yunos.

International awards, like they have been for every other APAC player thus far, were a step too far for HysteRiX, but he leaves the competitive arena with at least one trophy: the APAC North 2020 November Regional Major.
