Taiga #Taipon Katagari, one of the three players signed when the company entered Rainbow Six Siege, has left FAV gaming after four years with the club.
Simultaneously, Tyler #Kento Ross has been sidelined by Team Mirage days after their decision to replace the entire coaching stuff. It’s been around six months since he joined the organization, and judging by their move, they are not satisfied with his overall performance.
FAV & Taipon Moving On
FAV, who acquired the former Fnatic teammates Hikaru #Li9ht Osawa and Naoki #Yura Takamoto as well as #Sironeko from Sengoku Gaming, had a seven-player lineup in Stage 3.
Taipon participated in the bulk of the games in Stage 3 of the APAC North Division, yet according to SiegeGG Rating, he was the sixth poorest player in the whole league. On the other hand, during Season 3 of the Japan League 2022, he did not participate in any maps.
FAV only managed two overtime victories in Stage 3, placing them sixth in APAC North, while facing much stronger competition in REJECT and DWG KIA. They performed poorly in the Japan League as well, finishing ninth in Season 3.
With their three new additions, the squad will have had more time to gel, giving them a boost in their pursuit of shock Six Invitational 2023 qualification. However, it is still unclear which five of the remaining six players will be given consideration for selection.
Kento’s Situation
Prior to joining Kansas City Pioneers, Kento had previously played for a number of renowned tier-two teams, including Aqualix. His experience with Arial Arise, which covered three Challenger League stages and saw the team place second in Stage 3, 2021, is most noteworthy.
To replace Tomas #Tomas Kaka, who previously played for Excelerate Gaming, Luminosity Gaming, and XSET, Kento joined Mirage prior to Stage 2. This modification initially had little effect, since Mirage concluded Stages 1 and 2 with a 2-0-0-7 record, placing 10th overall. After that, the team changed two additional players in August, which resulted in a Stage 3 finish of fourth place and a group stage exit at the Six Jönköping Major.
Kento, who mainly played Finka at the time, was initially Mirage’s second-best player by official Rating during Stage 2. However, he only had a 0.90 rating. He then switched to a soft breach role, where he struggled and ended up with the team’s lowest official rating during Stage 3 (0.88), but was the second-best player on the team at the Six Major (0.91).
Despite being selected for the first Major competition in the organization’s history, the team benched Kento and said goodbye to its head coach and assistant coach within a week of Mirage’s elimination from the Major. Since this occurred before the first Six Invitational Open Qualifier, which is scheduled for December 3, Kento’s successor will probably be revealed in the coming days.
