The LSC Spring 2022 – the League Championship Series – in North America ended on the weekend with an impressive final victory of the Evil Geniuses.
In the past weeks the games were played in Houston and Los Angeles. The matches in the LCS Studio and NRG Stadium were partly high class.
In the final the Evil Geniuses played the defending champion 100 Thieves in a historic way. After only one hour and 18 minutes the match was over.

The results of the preliminary round
A total of 10 eSport clans took part in the tournament, facing each other in a double round robin between February 5 and March 27. After the conclusion of the games, the following table picture has emerged.

The playoffs of LCS Spring 2022
The playoffs of LCS Spring 2022 were played in upper bracket and lower bracket as usual. So the top teams had their second chance. Exactly from this way of playing the Evil Geniuses profited. The final winner had to admit defeat in the first semifinal.

In the Grand Final the Evil Geniuses beat the 100 Thieves in record time and won 3:0.
Evaluation of the LCS Spring 2022
In the end, the victory of the Evil Geniuses Clan can be seen as deserved in the tournament rating. The team has virtually improved from match to match. In the Upper Bracket semifinals the clan had to admit defeat against Team Liquid, but then in the Upper Bracket final they sent their opponent off the computer with 3:0. Whoever wins three matches in a row in the playoff round with 3:0, finally deserved to win the title.
The League Championship Series prize money
Winning LSC Spring 2022 has also paid off financially for Evil Geniuses. The clan has secured the victory prize money of $100,000. Other prize money has gone to the following teams:

- Team Liquid = $30,000
- Cloud 9 = 20.000 $
The most successful players in the League Championship Series
The most successful player in the playoffs logically comes from the winning team. Danny (USA) has secured MVP honors three times. In the preliminary round, South Korean Summit (Cloud 9) topped the list with seven awards. Summit also earned MVP honors for the entire season. Danny had picked up four awards in the group stage. With five honors each, Dane Santorini (Team Liquid) and South Korean Ssumday (100 Thieves) were even stronger in the rankings here.
