“Finest” Gets An Upgrade By Signing “Twist” And “PlesseN”

Now that IEM Katowice 2022 has been officially behind us, it is time to pay attention to what has been going on for the past seven days as all the teams were lurking to find improvements on the market.

One of the hottest news regarding the CS:GO world comes directly from Sweden. Apparently, two very well-known Swedish esports players, Simon “twist” Eliasson and Niclas “PlesseN” Plessen decided to once again join their forces and sign together with the team “FINEST”.

Quickly after the transfer, the organization was proud to publicly announce their latest roster additions on Twitter.

Brief History Report

This is not the first time for “twist” and “PlesseN” to play together. But, their recent circumstances made them feel like it was time for a change. After failing to make the last 16 in the open qualifications for the PGL Major Antwerp Europe RMR, the duo, who had happened to play together under the banner of team Savage, will make a solid upgrade for a new Swedish-majority team.

The pair competed for Savage for nearly four months, with their best performance coming in the closed qualifiers for ESL Challenger Anaheim 2022, where they finished second and missed out on the tournament after losing in the last match to “DBL PONEY”, now “HEET”.

Looking At The Horizont

It seems that this transfer could not be finalized at a better moment, for both the players and the organization. Finest has had a difficult time recently, with Robin “robiin” Sjögren, Joo “righi” Righi, and Martin “mar” Kuyumdjiev all leaving the squad within last three months.

Twist is a well-known figure in the Swedish scene, having played for a number of Swedish teams throughout the years, including “fnatic”, “GODSENT”, and “NIP”. The 27-year old was getting a disappointing 0.99 rating during his last tenure with Savage, and will most likely attempt to play the elder figure in a youngster club.

Meanwhile, PlesseN joins Finest following a successful run with his previous team, which included strong showings at the Elisa Invitational Winter 2021 and Pinnacle Winter Series 2 Regionals. After him leaving the fnatic Academy in 2017, the 23-year-old has already played for other lineups including “GamerLegion” and “Red Reserve”.

The Conclusion

The expectations placed upon the new FINEST’s roster are very high, considering that this upgrade does not bring just two new names to the team, but a very experienced duo that can fit in faster and be more efficient with the team. Sometimes, that can mean the exact difference between the additions that work out in the end and the ones that do not.

The rest of the squad, “kreaz”, “anarkez”, and “shokz” should not have problems with accepting their new teammates, since they already have very good relationships from previous tournaments.

The new roster will make their ESL Challenger League Season 40 Europe debut on March 7 at 19:00 against SINNERS in the first round of Group D.
