FaZe Vegas Win CoD Champs 2026, Denying OpTic Texas a Historic Three-Peat

FaZe Vegas are back on top of Call of Duty esports. At the Call of Duty League Championship 2026 (CoD Champs 2026), contested on Black Ops 7 at the Michelob ULTRA Arena inside the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, FaZe dismantled reigning champions OpTic Texas 5-2 in the grand final to lift the trophy and end the Green Wall’s bid for a third straight title.

It was FaZe’s second CoD Champs crown, following their 2021 win on Black Ops Cold War when the organization was still based in Atlanta. The lineup of Simp, Drazah, Abuzah, and 04 also shut the door on Shotzzy’s hunt for a fourth ring.

For Simp, the win carried extra weight. The 25-year-old, previously a champion with Atlanta FaZe and eUnited, claimed his third CDL title, joining an elite group alongside Crimsix, Clayster, Karma, and Shotzzy as the most decorated players in league history. He was also named tournament MVP. Drazah picked up his second world title after winning with the LA Thieves in 2022, while Abuzah and 04 earned their first, avenging last year’s finals defeat to OpTic when the pair were with Vancouver Surge.

How the final unfolded

OpTic drew first blood, taking Colossus Hardpoint 250-216 behind big performances from Mercules (34 kills) and Shotzzy (31). FaZe steadied themselves on Raid Search and Destroy, where Simp landed a clutch opening pick to win a nervy Round 11. From there the series swung. FaZe edged Scar Overload 4-3, and then Drazah exploded for 39 kills to bulldoze Scar Hardpoint 250-194.

FaZe reached match point on Den Search and Destroy, but OpTic refused to fold, snatching Den Overload 4-3 to stay alive. It was not enough. On Hacienda Search and Destroy, Simp secured two crucial pickoffs to force another Round 11, and Abuzah won a decisive 1v1 over Mercules to close out the championship.

Prize money and what comes next

FaZe Vegas banked the $800,000 top prize from the $2 million pool, having cruised through the upper bracket with wins over G2 Minnesota, Riyadh Falcons, and OpTic in the winners final. OpTic took $480,000 for second, Riyadh Falcons $320,000 for third, and Paris Gentle Mates $160,000 for fourth.

With the 2026 season closed, the CDL now shifts toward the Modern Warfare 4 cycle, where notable competitive changes are expected. For betting fans, a fresh champion and a new game engine make next season a genuinely open field, so it pays to compare odds and shop for value before the lines settle.
