Dota 2 – Jabz Leaves Fnatic, Signs With Talon Esports

A large earthquake has shaken #Dota2 world. Anucha #Jabz Jirawong has been hired by #TalonEsports to lead the team’s next Dota 2 squad as the center of its rebirth.

Jabz is moving to Talon from #Fnatic, where he spent the previous four years playing several roles for one of the top teams in the SEA. As Talon works to create something stable after The International 2022, he will now quickly transition to one of the area’s newest powerhouses. He may need some time to adjust to his new role, but if there’s one thing Jabz isn’t lacking, it’s the leadership ability.

What is next?

This is a significant loss for Fnatic because Jabz was a key component of the organization’s Dota identity for four seasons. He developed from a competent player who joined the organization in August 2019 into one of the region’s top captains, guiding them to two TI appearances. Jabz participated in three tournaments with Fnatic: TI9, TI10, and TI11. His best finish was a tie for ninth at TI10, which he shared with Mineski at TI8.

Along with losing veteran coach Lee #SunBhie Jeong-jae, Fnatic now has a number of leadership positions that need to be filled before the 2023 DPC kicks out in January.

Jabz is now bringing Talon his almost ten years of Dota experience and four TI appearances. Talon went through two different revisions but still managed to qualify for TI11 in the organization’s first competitive season, which is going to be a huge test for them.

Even though Fly and Gabbi didn’t work out as the team’s senior leaders when it originally came together, the team’s overall structure was solid, and it eventually made it to TI11 after Worawit #Q Mekchai and #23savage were added. Although the team finished in a tie for 17th position at TI, their participation in the 2022 DPC is still a significant accomplishment for the first-time competitors.

As Q, 23savage, and Mikoto are all 24 or younger, adding Jabz is a wager on his versatility at the offlane position and as a captain to help guide the youthful team around him. The squad still has to fill the position five spot, so another good player may be on the way to help the roster be even stronger for the upcoming season, when Talon hopes to challenge for the top spot in the SEA.
