CSGO – NaVi Climbing Up Through Blast Premier Spring

After defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas, Natus Vincere secured their spot in the BLAST Premier Spring Group C final. The roster, which is dominated by Ukrainians, scored first on Inferno (16-10) before falling to Mirage (7-16) and winning the series with an impressive performance on Overpass (16-5).

Aleksi #Aleksib Virolainen and company were originally relegated to the lower bracket in the first round of play by the Ukrainian-majority lineup, which has now given Ninjas in Pyjamas back-to-back defeats in Copenhagen. With a 1.47 rating and 89 ADR, s1mple led the server in his team’s 2-1 triumph. Andrii #npl Kukharskyi also demonstrated progress as he got used to wearing a Natus Vincere jersey by posting a 1.38 rating during the team’s 16-10 victory on Inferno.

The Match Recap

The battle started again on Ninjas in Pyjamas choice of Inferno in the veto, which was a rehash of the series from the first day of competition. Early on, the Swedes proved that they had chosen the right map when they amassed a 5-0 lead on the T-side thanks to consecutive hits on the A bombsite that went off without a hitch, forcing Natus Vincere to preserve their weapons round after round.

Valeriy #b1t Vakhovskiy and npl contributed significantly to Natus Vincere’s win in the ensuing back-and-forth skirmish, which changed the direction of the map. The primarily Ukrainian team ran off six rounds in a row to close off the first half with a one-round cushion.

With the exception of a few hiccups where the team failed to Ninjas in Pyjamas’ low-investment buys, Natus Vincere’s T-side effort got underway with a pistol-round quad kill from s1mple. The team continued to keep their hold on the game to expand their lead even further, reaching 13-9.

The Nordic ensemble’s coffers were exhausted as a result of their insistence on forcing buy into rounds, and as a result of this lack of utility, their defensive holds were seriously compromised.

With 18 kills combined by s1mple and b1t to control the Fountain region of the map and give their team a 7-1 lead on the CT-side, Natus Vincere awoke from their slumber to begin Overpass. With alternating plays to both sites, Ninjas in Pyjamas attempted to breach the Ukrainian roster’s defenses, but Natus Vincere’s tenacious wall repelled the attacks.

The End Point

Ninjas in Pyjamas managed to get back on the board in the 14th round thanks to a desperate buy of AK-47s and Tec-9s, but this was just a momentary confidence boost. Natus Vincere immediately fired back, adding the 12th round to their total by the half with to double kills from Ilya #Perfecto Zalutskiy and electroNic.

For the duration of the game, Natus Vincere had the wind very much in their sails. With only two rounds being added to Ninjas in Pyjamas’ score, Natus Vincere moved closer to map and match point, 13-3, thanks to a 1vs2 from s1mple. Natus Vincere then easily won the match, 16-5.
