CS2 Roster Shuffle Before the Singapore Major: Astralis Bench HooXi and jabbi

With the Singapore Major on the horizon, the Counter-Strike 2 scene has entered full transfer-window mode. While the ESL Pro League Season 24 playoffs dominate the schedule, several organisations are quietly reworking their lineups to be ready when the Major qualification pressure peaks.

Astralis make the biggest call

The headline move comes from Astralis, who have benched HooXi and jabbi ahead of the Singapore Major. Pulling two players at once, and one of them a long-time in-game leader, is a clear sign that the Danish organisation is not satisfied with its current trajectory. Reports also suggest that cmtry could join Astralis on loan, which would give the team a fresh face for the run-in. Whether a loan is a stopgap or a trial for something permanent remains to be seen, but it shows how little time teams feel they have before qualification matches begin.

Smaller moves across the ladder

Further down the ranking, the shuffle continues. BBL confirmed the signing of MistR, who parted ways with Sashi; Sashi then signed with chelleos. Maden joined BIG Academy as in-game leader, lattykk moved from Color to magic, and Bymas left Luminosity. None of these changes will shake the top of the world ranking on its own, but together they show how many teams are chasing the same open-qualifier slots.

A special exception for Asia

Valve also granted BC.Game an exception to qualify for the Singapore Major through the Asian route. Exceptions like this tend to spark debate, because a single slot can change the picture of an entire regional qualifier. It also underlines how important the Major remains for organisations outside the traditional European and North American core.

The calendar ahead

The coming weeks are packed. The Thunderpick World Championship matchups have been announced, with NIP replacing Virtus.pro, and all top-14 teams have accepted invites to PGL Bucharest 2027. On the list of upcoming events are also PGL Masters Bucharest 2026, IEM Beijing 2026 and BLAST Rivals 2026 Season 2. At the top of the world ranking, Spirit lead with 1000 points, followed by Vitality on 686, MOUZ on 562, FURIA on 534 and Falcons on 496.

What it means for fans and bettors

Roster changes right before a Major are one of the biggest sources of uncertainty in esports. A new player or a changed in-game leader can shift a team’s strength well before form shows up in the results. If you follow the scene closely, it is worth tracking line-ups before placing a wager, and checking the terms of any welcome bonus carefully before you claim it. Please bet responsibly and only with money you can afford to lose.

We will keep following the transfer market as the qualification phase for Singapore gets closer.
