The group stage of VCT 2026 Americas Stage 2 has three match days left, and Thursday night in Sao Paulo confirmed the pecking order rather than shaking it up. NRG brushed ENVY aside 2-0 and Evil Geniuses swept FURIA by the same scoreline, setting up a closing weekend in which the direct Playoff berths are still mathematically live in both groups.
Group Alpha: NRG untouched, Brazil and Argentina locked together
NRG are the only team in the region yet to drop a series. Four wins from four, an 8-2 map record and a +24 round difference put them clear at the top of Alpha, with only a meeting against Evil Geniuses on Aug 9 left to play.
Behind them, MIBR and LEVIATAN are tied at 3-1. MIBR hold the better map record (7-2 against 7-3) and a marginally stronger round difference (+31 against +30) – exactly the sort of margin that decides seeding when two sides finish level. They face each other on Aug 8, so the tiebreaker may never be needed.

At the foot of the group, FURIA are still hunting a first series win at 0-5, while ENVY’s 1-4 record flatters a team carrying a -48 round difference, the worst mark in the event.
Group Omega: 100 Thieves unbeaten, G2 one result behind
100 Thieves are the other side yet to lose a series. Three wins, a 6-2 map record and a +37 round difference – the best in the whole tournament – have them top of Omega. G2 Esports sit a single series back at 3-1, their only defeat coming against 100 Thieves in week one.
Sentinels own the group’s strangest line: 2-2 on series but 6-5 on maps and +5 on rounds, having pushed both 100 Thieves and G2 to a decider without closing either out. Three of their four series have gone the full distance. LOUD are 2-1 with a game in hand, Cloud9 1-3, and KRU Esports are winless at 0-4.

Friday settles most of it. 100 Thieves face Cloud9 in the early slot, then G2 meet LOUD in the late game – a result that either pulls LOUD level with Sentinels or effectively ends their run. Saturday brings KRU against Sentinels and LEVIATAN against MIBR, and Sunday closes with Evil Geniuses versus NRG and LOUD versus 100 Thieves.
What the closing weekend is worth
Americas Stage 2 carries a $250,000 prize pool and runs out of Sao Paulo. The event bracket lists 5th through 12th place feeding into the Play-Ins between Aug 13 and 23, which points to the top two from each group moving straight through to the Playoffs starting Aug 27. With Valorant Champions 2026 scheduled for late September, the gap between a direct Playoff seed and a Play-In run is more than cosmetic.
Betting angles for the last three days
Three numbers shape the closing markets. Round difference is the first: 100 Thieves, MIBR and LEVIATAN have been winning maps comfortably rather than narrowly, which feeds into handicap and total-map pricing. Second, Sentinels’ profile is the textbook signature of a team that goes the distance, so over-2.5-maps markets involving them deserve a look. Third, NRG’s place at the top of Alpha is all but secured, which can change how a team approaches a final group fixture.
