LoL: 5 of 6 LCS Playoff teams featured on Split All-pro teams

The LCS’ best players have been recognized. The LCS has announced the 2023 Spring Split All-Pro teams, and the variety of teams featured in the All-Pro voting is quite high this year. Five of the six postseason teams were represented on the three All-Pro squads from this spring, with only CLG missing entirely.

Cloud9 players make up the bulk of the first All-Pro squad, including top laner Fudge, jungler Blaber, and AD carry Berserker. They are joined by Evil Geniuses support Vulcan (who was named to his second straight first All-Pro squad) and Golden Guardians mid laner Gori.

The other two starters from C9, Menes and Zven, were selected to the second All-Pro squad. Emenes’ inclusion on the second All-Pro squad is especially noteworthy given that he only played 10 games in the LCS this split. However, C9 went 8-2 with him in the roster, and many fingers could be pointed in his direction, saying that he was the catalyst for C9’s late-split surge to the top of the rankings.

The most noteworthy conclusion from the All-Pro election results, however, is that no FlyQuest players were voted to the first All-Pro squad. FlyQuest were almost certain to run the table and rule the LCS awards after starting the division with an 8-0 record. However, the squad completed the split with a 6-4 record over their remaining ten games, finishing second in the Spring Split standings. The bulk of FlyQuest’s squad is represented on the second and third All-Pro teams, with Impact, Spica, and Prince on the second and VicLa on the third.

Eyla and Winsome, who divided time on the LCS stage this split due to visa problems with the former, did not however make All-Pro teams. Winsome, on the other hand, got five All-Pro votes while Eyla received none.

Stay tuned!

The LCS award season will resume next week with the announcement of the Coaching Staff of the Split honor on March 29. The league MVP—likely a member of the first All-Pro team—will be announced during the LCS championships weekend on April 8 and 9. Today, March 23, the LCS finals kick off with a battle between FlyQuest and 100 Thieves.
