Call of Duty League – More Problems for Team OpTic Texas

Sometimes, it is injuries, health problems, or internal team drama that prevents us from seeing our favorite players participate in big events.

But other times, we get denied the pleasure of witnessing their gameplay simply because of legal formalities, similar to the case we are about to present you with.

According to one of his teammates, OpTic Texas member #iLLeY’s visa application has been rejected, forcing him to play his forthcoming online Call of Duty League matchups far, far away from his comrades.

The Real Issue

Shotzzy, an OpTic player, announced on his stream that iLLeY’s visa application had been rejected, preventing him from reentering the country.

Shotzzy stated that #iLLeY will have to perform through their online qualifying games from Toronto, despite his confidence that iLLeY would be able to overcome these problems before the second CDL Major in Boston at the beginning of February.

Shotzzy commented on the situation, saying that “iLLeY was denied, so he has repeat everything, but it appears he will be fine before the Major. So, yes, he will perform from Toronto.” Turns out his friends have lots of confidence that the situation will resolve in time, considering he is very valuable to the team and they need him to be 100% if they want to overpower their opponent.

More Issues On The Rise?

The difficulties with ILLeY’s visa are only the most recent challenge OpTic has had thus far in CDL season. A lineup change resulted from OpTic’s dismal top-12 finish at the season’s opening Major. However, the club was unable to land either of its top two targets, which forced them to bench Dashy and sign up Huke, who along with Shotzzy and iLLeY won a CDL global championship in 2020.

Huke is still getting acquainted to the team, iLLeY is in Toronto, and Scump is switching roles for the third time this season, all of which will be disadvantages for OpTic this weekend. The team’s first opponent will be the Boston Breach, who yesterday easily defeated the London Royal Ravens and appeared to be in good shape after the break.

According to the odds, OpTic should be the favorite to win the match. But things don’t get much better after that. The Seattle Surge, who finished second at the most recent Major, the Toronto Ultra, who finished fourth, and the Vegas Legion, who are shocking teams left and right, are also scheduled to play OpTic.

When the Major comes around, there is still optimism even though the online qualifiers may be a challenge for the team. There may be enough time to perform well in Boston if iLLeY is able to join the team. As a result of OpTic’s failure to advance past the group stage and subsequent loss of crucial early-season CDL Points, a lot depends on how well they do at this Major.
