League of Legends – The Story of G2 Landing Hans Sama

While fans eagerly await the resumption of #LEC professional play next week, #G2Esports general manager Romain Bigeard recently spoke with the #Esports media about how the organization’s League of Legends offseason went.

In particular, he described how the team acquired French bot laner Hans Sama after his catastrophic #LCS campaign with #TeamLiquid.

The Quick Esports History

Because Flakked had surpassed his limits in international play, we had to switch the bot laner. So we exerted every effort to locate Hans Sama. The previous year, we already chatted with him,” Bigeard stated. “Then, after this awful season, he returned. He quickly rose to the top of the European solo queue and later made it to the top 20 on the Korean server. He is not, as some have said, “washed up” or close to retirement.

Hans Sama was a highly sought-after player in Europe who reportedly had many summer conversations with teams. He reportedly chatted with MAD Lions, SK Gaming, and other teams before joining G2, thus the business was up against stiff opposition.

But finally, he decided to join G2 because he wanted to play with seasoned support Mikyx. It was a prerequisite for him to join us, according to Bigeard. He doesn’t have anything against Targamas, but Mikyx and he share fond memories, and they frequently cross paths in the solo queue. In terms of playstyle, they frequently reunited.

When they both competed for Misfits Gaming in the 2018 EU LCS, Hans Sama and Mikyx were colleagues. Mikyx joined G2 the following season, and GorillA from the LCK took Mikyx’s position.

Bigeard added, “We assessed the advantages and disadvantages and he wanted Mikyx, therefore we sadly had to part ways with Targamas. But I put the comfort of the bot laner first, so that’s what we did.

The Final Outcome

In the end, Targamas and Mikyx changed teams, with the 22-year-old player joining Excel with a virtually completely renovated squad of veterans combined with youthful potential for the 2023 season.

As its “final component,” G2, on the other hand, signed top LFL jungler Yike, according to Bigeard. The manager praised him as a standout youngster who showed promise and improved the mood of the entire club.

He will compete in the 2023 LEC Winter Season alongside four seasoned athletes. On Saturday, January 21 at 11 a.m. CT, they will play Excel in their opening game.
