Rainbow 6 Siege – Team oNe eSports purchased by Team Los Grandes

Los Grandes, one of the biggest esports companies in Latin America, has acquired Team oNe eSports.

Los Grandes was purchased for an undisclosed sum, but according to Forbes Brazil, its value has increased to $25 million.

How It All Went Down

According to the Forbes article, the two groups “keep all their individual infrastructures” and are not expected to be completely combined. Nevertheless, oNe’s CS:GO team, playing under the name “Los + oNe,” will aim to earn a spot in the IEM: Rio 2022 competition the following week. It is unknown if their Rainbow Six team will also receive the same name change.

The new owners, Los Grandes, have been rapidly growing and currently field squads in Counter-Strike, Free Fire, Valorant, and League of Legends.

The Valorant team was three games away from qualifying for the Copenhagen Major back in July, while the Free Fire team recently finished fourth in the primary Brazilian competition.

The company also oversees the Flamengo football (soccer) club’s esports division, which enters a team in the League of Legends CBLOL licensed competition.

Now that Team oNe has joined the organization, they have an especially strong presence in both Counter-Strike and Rainbow Six. Los Grandes had little success in these two of the biggest games in Brazil.

Plans For The Future

With this acquisition, the ex-CEO of oNe said: “We will be able to be where we always fight, we will stand out as one of the biggest esports teams in the world. This merger comes at a very critical moment in the international esports scene.”

While this was going on, a Los Grande advisor made the following statement: “The acquisition will help us work on our worldwide positioning, as we want to become a reference both in sports and as an organization outside of Brazil.” Los Grandes currently notably owns Team oNe’s North American training facilities as a result of the buyout.

With such high goals, additional investments in Crew oNe’s R6 team may be necessary if they want to capture another Major championship. With players moving on to MIBR, w7m, NiP, Squad Liquid, G2 Esports, 00 Nation, Santos e-Sports, and Black Dragons over the past several years, oNe has established itself as somewhat of a feeder team of young players to larger organizations. This might be about to alter now.

Team oNe will currently play against MIBR and Liquid in their next R6 matches in an effort to qualify for the November Major.
